Originally built in the 1800s as a workhouse, Fermoy Community Hospital is now a public care facility for those requiring long term care, respite, convalescent and palliative care. The centre is located on a 16 acre site on the outskirts of Fermoy town.

Accommodation is provided for up to 71 residents and is comprised of 21 single bedrooms, 10 twin bedrooms, 2 three-bedded rooms and 6 four-bedded rooms, all on the ground floor. 5 of the single rooms come equipped with ensuite and all other rooms come with a wash-hand basin.

Facilities at Fermoy Community Hospital include a dining room, sitting room and a chapel. Meaningful activities are also organised to keep residents occupied and to help them socialise. The centre actively promotes socialization and encourages all residents to make use of the communal areas and take part in activities. Such activities include bingo, pet therapy, arts and crafts, quizzes, chair exercise

Located approximately 1 kilometre from Fermoy town, the centre provides ample parking for visitors.
