Farranlea House Community Nursing Unit

Cork, Co. Cork

Farranlea Road Community Nursing Unit is a new purpose-built HSE facility opened in December 2011. The unit aims to provide a home away from home for its residents in a person-centred environment. This is partly achieved through the lively and vibrant atmosphere accompanied by a busy activity programme to help residents live their lives as full and enjoyable as possible.

The unit provides care for those requiring long-stay medical care, therapy and rehabilitation. They can accommodate the care of up to 75 older persons and 25 young, chronically sick residents. Farranlea Road is surrounded by extensive landscaped gardens and has 2 large secure courtyards and one smaller courtyard.

The unit is easily accessed as it is within close proximity to Cork city centre and is located behind the County Cork Hall near the Lee Road and the River Lee. It also has access to direct bus routes.
