An Teaghlach Uilinn is a retirement and convalescence centre. Constructed in 2006, the centre boasts state of the art living standards in a tranquil setting to ensure the needs of its residents are fully met on a medical, spiritual and daily living basis. The home provides care for those aged 18 and older, catering for both long term and short term stays.
The home can accommodate up to 77 residents with accommodation consisting of 56 ensuite bedrooms, 9 double bedrooms and 3 single non ensuite bedrooms. Bedrooms are equipped with modern profile bed, wardrobes, 24 hour nurse call system, satellite TV, telephone and Wi-Fi access.
As the home strives to create an environment as close to the warm and secure feeling of their own home as possible, residents and their families are encouraged to personalise bedrooms to their own tastes. Residents have access to spacious lounges and dining areas, all with stunning views across the natural countryside and mature woodland.
Facilities at An Teaghlach Uilinn include internal courtyard and seating area with a grotto, chapel with weekly mass, day rooms and dining rooms, fully equipped kitchen to meet the dietary needs of residents, in-house laundry and hairdressing salon.
Activities are regularly organised at the home by 2 full time Sonas trained Activities Coordinators. As well as in house activities, day trips and outings are also on offer for the residents to enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding areas such as the mountainous area of Connemara, one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland.
An Teaghlach Uilinn is located in the quaint village of Moycullen, 10 km from Galway city on the N59. The home is just 500 metres from the village centre and 100 metres from the local church.
